IPFS, or InterPlanetary File System, is a peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol that makes the web faster and more resilient by storing files across a network of computers instead of on a single server. Each file gets a unique content-based address, so if multiple people have the same file, they can swap parts to help each other download it faster. It's great for saving bandwidth, avoiding censorship, and making sure content stays available even if the original uploader goes offline.
