We piled into the beat-up dune buggy with a cooler full of soda and a tiny propane grill strapped to the back. After roaring through the soft sand for an hour, we found a flat spot near some scrubby bushes. Someone fired up the grill while the rest of us kicked off our shoes and watched the sun sink lower.
